Partners of the projects below will participate in the event:
R2CITIES – Residential Renovation towards nearly zero energy CITIES
The project is related to Energy building renovation at a pilot district site called “Lavatrici” (Washing machines from the shape of the buildings involved) in western Genoa. The project has reached its final phase and will illustrate its achievements in Genoa.
CELSIUS – Combined Efficient Large-Scale Integrated Urban Systems
The CELSIUS project brings together 65 European cities that are developing innovative energy-efficient heating systems resulting in a cut of Europe’s CO2 emissions by almost 100 000 tonnes per year while the network is still growing. This year the project won the 2017 EU Sustainable Energy Award.
UNaLab – Urban Nature Labs
Is a project belonging to the Smart Cities and Communities call under the Horizon 2020 programme with which the City of Genoa will regenerate its former Gavoglio military barracks by creating a 5-hectare urban park. The idea is to gradually regain public areas through “nature-based solutions”.
ELVITEN – Electrified L-category Vehicles Integrated into Transport and Electricity Networks
The project funded by the European Commission under the H2020 programme whose goals – the introduction of innovative services and infrastructures aimed at promoting Electrified L-category Vehicles in cities among private owners and small sized companies involved in ‘last mile transportation’ (forwarding and delivery) and a sustainable tourism – valorise previous experience gained in other EU projects, in particular the MOVEUS and ELECTRA projects whose experience is innovated in compliance with the H2020 framework programme.
FORCE – Cities Cooperating for Circular Economy
One of the 4 projects funded by the “Waste 6a – a resource to recycle, reuse and recover raw materials – Eco-innovative solutions” call under the Horizon 2020 programme, featuring the city of Genoa together with Copenhagen (project leader), Hamburg and Lisbon. The aim of the project is to minimize the leakage of resources from the linear economy and work towards a circular economy, by developing specific eco-innovative, participatory solutions across four material streams.
XERIC – Innovative Climate-Control System to Extend Range of Electric Vehicles and Improve Comfort
A transdisciplinary project under the Horizon 2020 call, whose aim is to develop an energy-friendly climate-control system capable of reducing by at least 50% the energy used for passenger comfort throughout the year (i.e., heating, cooling and dehumidifying) while offering the advantage of extending the range capability of electric vehicles.
EnerSHIFT – Social Housing Innovative Financing Tender for Energy
EnerSHIFT is a European project funded under the Horizon 2020 Program coordinated by Liguria Region and in partnership with IRE – Energy Division, the four Ligurian Social Housing operators (ARTE) and the Tenant Unions (Sunia, Sicet, Uniat).
It is the first project in Italy – and among the first in Europe – to apply an absolutely innovative Energy Performance Contract (EPC) for the energy refurbishment of the Residential Public Buildings, according to the Shared Savings model that provides an immediate economic saving to the tenants of the dwellings involved.
PURE COSMOS – Public authorities Role Enhancing Competitiveness of SMEs
PURE COSMOS – Public authorities Role Enhancing Competitiveness of SMEs – is one of the 64 successful applications in the first call for proposals of Interreg Europe Programme. The interregional cooperation project focuses on the role public authorities can play in enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs by making the business climate more transparent and reliable, supporting the needs of SMEs and promoting administrative modernisation of public services.
PURE COSMOS aims to support the growth and development of SMEs by improving of the effectiveness of public-sector support and decreasing the administrative burden through selected policy instruments.
Regional policies will be improved through the involvement of stakeholders and regional experts to share common solutions, identify innovative new projects and enhance governance. This will be done by analysing partners’ plans through Peer Reviews and identifying good practices that will improve these plans, exploring them further through studying them through study visits and importing them via special workshops and regional action plans.
It is expected that the project will advance services for SMEs, such as e-payment tools, one stop shop, “digital by default” models, and digital-skill support. Governance will be also improved through IT administrative solutions, regional legislation review, simplifying and launching of new business calls.
RISEWISE – RISE Women with disabilities In Social Engagement
Women with disabilities have more difficulties to find an employment and to integrate in social day life activities than men with disabilities. In recent years, different world and European organizations have produced reports on disability to provide the evidence for innovative policies and programmes that can improve the lives of people with disabilities, and facilitate implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with (2008). This landmark international treaty reinforced our understanding of disability as a human right and development priority.
RISEWISE project focuses on the collective of women with disabilities from different perspectives, trying to identify needs and best practices in several EU countries, representing different cultural and socio-economic environments, for the integration and improvement of their quality of life in several environments from the point of view of different disciplines, among which there is accessibility to technology, assistive technology and barriers to women with disability together with technology improvement in general.
LIFE Weeenmodels
LIFE 12/ENV/IT 001058 Weeenmodels has provided new solutions to citizens and sector operators alike, in order to comply with legal requirements, to make the WEEE (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) collection system more efficient and to achieve the collection target required by law and re-use. The proper disposal of WEEE, through the implementation of a better collection system, can improve health and the environment.
ClairCity – Citizen-Led Air pollution Reduction in Cities
ClairCity (Citizen-Led Air pollution Reduction in Cities) is an important research project of Horizon 2020 program, that is developed in six pilot cities Amsterdam (NL), Bristol (UK), Lubiana (SI), Sosnowiec (PO), Aveiro Region (PT) e Liguria Regione (IT)- in which citizen will be involved through questionaries, a game, an application on mobile phone, citizen events, school competition and local workshop.
In own uniqueness, the project open to citizen the possibility of understanding and taking part in defining the best local solution for good air quality and health effects, helping to reduce pollution with their habits and lifestyles. Although the effects of poor air quality also have a worldwide impact, causes generally reside locally. Daily pollution is caused by traffic due to job and leisure travel, domestic heating as well as industries and activities in the area.
So local solutions can make a big difference even in a city like Genoa.
The results obtained can be adapted to other European cities as well.

CLIMAERA
CLIMAERA is a project of Alcotra program 2014-2020 (Italy – France).
For Italy there are Liguria Region (coordinator), Arpa Val D’Aosta and Arpa Piemonte, for France there are Air Paca and Air Rhȏne Alpes.
The objective of the project is to prepare and make available planning basics and instruments to accompany pubblic management and development policies in ALCOTRA Area in a trasversal and complementary way on “Air Quality” and Climate-Energy” issues, with positive effects on the quality of life of the cross-border population.
The project will develop assessments of the impacts of climate change on air quality, complemented by economic impact data and stakeholder awareness on “win-win” strategies for developing cross-border climate-air synergies. line with the objectives of the Axis II – OS 2.1 PO ALCOTRA 2014-2020.
This objective will contribute to forging a more resilient Europe to climate change. The objective is also in line with the information contained in the recent European Union Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP), a Communication that the European Commission submitted to the European Parliament in July 2015
